The Founders Award was established to commemorate the dedication and vision of those NE Military Retirees who were responsible for the formation, development and perpetuation of the NE Military Retiree Council.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Founders Award is to recognize and honor person (s) and/or organization (s), either civilian or military, which have demonstrated a significant interest in and have provided support of programs and activities affecting NE Military Retirees.
CRITERIA
Nominees, either civilian or military, will have performed acts or services that are in support of and/or promotion of the general welfare and benefit of the NE Military Retirees, which are above and beyond those that, are of a routine or standard job related nature. Awards may be made posthumously.
PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATION AND SELECTION
Any member of the NE Military Retiree Council may make a nomination of a person (s) and/or organization (s), either civilian or military, for the Founders Award. Such nominations shall be in writing on this nomination form and will include such justification as is necessary to allow the Awards Committee to fully understand the act or service rendered in order to make a recommendation to the NE Military Retiree Council Board of Directors on each nomination. If appropriate, more than one Founders Award may be conferred during the period of consideration. If a person (s) and/or organization (s) has been nominated in past years and has not been selected for the award they will have to be nominated again in the current year. Current Board Members are not eligible while in office.
PRESENTATION OF AWARD
The Awards Committee will determine the appropriate forum at which to confer the Founders Award; such as the Adjutant General's Retiree Briefing, Retirement Ceremonies, formal Council functions, etc.
