The Retiree Council met on this date at 1300 hours. The following Board of Directors was present: Treasurer Ron Kroon, and Secretary Jerry Chenoweth. Members at Large: Al Peate, Ollie Sapp, Bill Nelson, and Dave Petersen,

Jerry called the meeting to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There was a correction of the phone number for SMSgt Susan Spence. Her correct number is 309-7102. Also the Council Office number on this page should read 309-7309. The minutes stand as corrected.

Treasurer's report was given by Ron.  We have 634 members of which 60 are widows. Members on our first year free program 38.

OLD BUSINESS:

The Board members discussed the wording for one year free membership offered to new retirees and past retirees. It will be aligned with the present rules for dues. With this free one year membership we hope to reach some newly retirees and retirees close to age 60.

Bill is still working to get our telephone number on the phone in our office.

NEW BUSINESS:

We discussed nominations for the office of President, and Secretary, who would take office in January 2007. Ollie the nomination committee Chairman has contacted Cecil Metzger and he declined to run again for President but would like to stay active with the Council board. If you or someone you know would like to serve on the Board, submit the name to the Council office. If it is someone other than you make sure they would be willing to serve if elected. We will send out the election ballots with the October minutes with the names of those who have been nominated.

Air National Guard CMSgt Gemmell was present at the June meeting to update the Board on the Air Show at the ANG Base on September 23-24. The Air Guard is going to operate a food concession stand to make money for the memorial at the Base. They are looking for volunteers to help operate this stand. There will be 2 shifts per day.

Saturday Sept. 23-Shift 1, 0730-1230 Shift 2, 1230-1730

Sunday Sept. 24-Shift 1, 0730-1230

Shift 2, 1230-1730 Any one Army, Air or spouse can volunteer.

Air National Guard SMSgt Spence was present at the June meeting to update the Board on the Thunder Run for this year. It will be held on August 5 th on the West side of the runway. The times are not set as of yet but they will only have 2 runs as the some of the space is reduced by the aircraft from Offutt parked in the area. SMSgt Spence can be reached at 402-309-7148. More information will come later and also will be announced at the Retiree breakfasts'.

The Board discussed having a social next March; Al will head this up and start looking at dates and locations.

As there was no more business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned.
