Board of Governors Meeting Minutes

April, 2005

TO:  Members of the Board of Governors - Nebraska

FROM:  Captain Darin E. Huss

RE:  Minutes of Board of Governors Meeting on 05 April 2005

1.  Members Present:

MajGen Lemke, Col Evans, LtCol Zwart, MAJ Herrod, CPT Huss, CPT Martin Neal, CPT Marna Neal, CW5 (R) Nelson & CW3 Regan

2.  The minutes will be given to all Representatives to review and make corrections/suggestions.  If you want any changes, make them and forward them back to me. I will make the changes and send the corrected version out again for distribution.  I need a response of acceptance or corrections/suggestions.

3.   Next BOG meeting schedule for:

  a.Tuesday 7 June 2005 @ 1800, NG Museum located on Court Street   by the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

4.  Col Evans called the meeting to order at 1800 hours CST 

5.  Opening Comments:

  a.Col Evans started off the meeting by talking a little bit about his  vision and agenda.  He will go more in detail at the Spring  Conference.  

6.  Secretary’s Report: CPT Huss

  a.CPT Huss was TDY during the March BOG meeting. Major  Boatman took notes and will get with him when he returns from  NTC. February notes were presented and approved to the BOG with  no changes.

8.  Treasurer’s Report: LtCol Zwart

   a.  Treasurer’s Report was approved by majority vote.

b.  Issue brought up by LtCol Zwart, is if it was not for the AGAUS   revenue the Association would be in the hole. We have spent more   money then what we have coming in. LtCol Zwart also informed   the board that LTC Murphy is back in the state and currently on   orders but has been working the Corporate Sponsor issues for the   upcoming AGAUS. Currently he has not generated any funds for   the NE-NGA, but will re-focus on the NE-NGA once the AGAUS   is completed.

10.  Committee Reports

  a.  Membership: CW3 Regan

 1.  CW3 Regan handed out the current membership information to the representatives present. March 30 was the initial deadline to get all officer dues in.  Natalie Regan will be sending what we have to NGAUS to obtain our first 5% kickback.  We also get another 5% discount on 30 July for all dues received.  Current membership by organization is as follows:

b.  Legislative: CPT Huss

1.  To save space I will not list all the Appropriation Bills going on   floor, but I have attached a web site that you can go to, to review   the bills.

  c.  Insurance: COL (R) Hatfield was not present to give his report, but it  was noted that the funding  issue brought up in February’s BOG  meeting has been taken care of.

  d.  Web Site: Susan Ranta

 1.  Due to CPT Cory Hinrichs mobilizing, our publisher Susan Ranta will be taking over our Web Site for the time being.  If anyone has anything that they would like to see on the site contact Susan   at sranta@inebraska.com

 2.  To try and save some printing and postage costs we have now put the Guard Gazette on the Internet.  The following link will take you to the site http://www.neguard.org.  We still have the capability to mail the Gazette to you and if you would like the Gazette mailed instead of getting it on the net, let Col Evans or CW3 Regan know.

  e.  Events – Below is a list of upcoming events that the NE-NGA is  sponsoring or hosting.  Col Evans is asking for volunteers to help out  and head up these events.  If you are interested in heading up one of  these committees please contact one of the BOG members

  1.  NGAUS National Conference – Hawaii (16-20 September 2005)   No one at this time

2.  State Conference (22-23 Apr 2005) – 867th and CW5 (R) Nelson.

22 April is the Golf Tourney at Arbor Links in Nebraska City, we currently have 19 teams teeing off, but still have room for more. If interested in golfing go to http://www.neguard.org and fill out the registration form and mail it to CW5 (R) Nelson.

23 April is the Spring Conference at the Holiday Inn Downtown – Lincoln.  We currently only have 8 individuals register for the conference.  If you are interested in attending the Spring Conference go to http://www.neguard.org and fill out the registration form and mail it to CW3 Regan.
